Felt-tip pen works

Aquarellen

The felt-tip pen works were executed with extreme precision. Flowers, especially spring flowers like tulips and daffodils, are not portrayed realistically but are stylized and brought back to their essence.

Most of the felt-tip pen works are abstract and often have a mathematical basis: there are circles encompassing thin webbed lines, repetitive patterns are slightly broken, geometric shapes give depth to the works and labyrinthine knot patterns are so intricately drawn that they look like fine lace.

Many of the op-art works are in black and white – others are extremely colourful. The smaller pieces are postcard size – 10 x 15 cm (see Miniatures) but many pieces are on larger paper measuring 30 x 40 cm.
