Embroidery works
The embroidered compositions were executed in the finest detail and finished to perfection. All of the patterns which are so characteristic of Nel Egberts’ work are visible: spatial divisions with horizontal and vertical lines, zigzag movement, diagonals, spirals and labyrinths as well as the colour shifts.
Some of the works look almost exotic with their flamboyant colours and shapes. Other works are more subdued and minimalistic in style.
A noteworthy fact is that a number of these pieces were embroidered on antique linen.
The sizes range from approximately 10 x 10 to 40 x 50 cm.
